few comments
The leads to led are too long to obtain good output
The resistor seems not to be zero-inductance model. 
There is no blocking capacitor at IC power leads.
I think in this case it may not work well.

Please use shorter leads from ICs, proper power blocking, zero-inductance 
resistor and then send us driving current waveform (voltage measured on shunt 
resistor)
