You can use multiple transmitters to improve the range. If you calculate
range of your link according to this page
http://ronja.twibright.com/metropolis/dist.php
Then the gains.pdf figures 10,11,12 are for single, dual, and triple
transmitter. I think it came out something like 1.9 or 2.1km for a triple
transmitter.
