How about a single ultra bright one?

The above is 75 lumen, which is colossal compared to the 3.8 lumen one
which is recommended in the guide. This will probably violate eye safety
laws, but oh well :)
I might even be able to get a neon light in.
And I know I'll need to put a few more transistors in it to power the
0.7A LED too.
