Exactly this kind. It stinks like vinegar when freshly used. It is
transparent, and I was also using it in building my bathroom.
I now dissassembled the tube, and realized that I was using the original
rubber ring that was already in the tube, to prevent the lens from
falling into the tube. This rubber ring is black, and has an oily touch.
Maybe this ring and its oil was causing the problem.
In bathrooms there is a very unfriendly environment, and i would be
surprized if any changes in the sealant could happen.
I learned, that the polimerizing reaction of the silicon sealant and
water from the air is causing vinegar acid, and that it is normal, and
after finishing the reaction it remains stable, and there will be no
more acid.

hehe. this is the life of an R & D engineer. I think I will never get
another kind of job in my life :D
Karel, if you need these pictures, I leave them on the server for 1
week. Maybe on the Ronja homepage there should be mentioned, that this
kind of problem could happen, etc...
